So your order has arrived, but you’re not exactly sure what to do with it. If you’ve placed an order through our website, your whole leaf tobacco should arrive as individual, unbound leaves. No need to worry about unwrapping your leaves from a ‘hand’, which usually results in cracks or damage. If you prefer your tobacco to arrive bound together in hands as it was when sold by the farmer, we’re happy to accommodate you. Just let us know.
Depending on many different factors, your tobacco could have a wide range of moisture content. If it’s too moist for your purposes, just leave it out of its packaging for a day or so. Once the leaves have dried to your satisfaction, you can put them back in their original packaging or store them as you normally would.
If your leaves are too dry, put them in the bathroom while you run a hot shower, spray a little distilled water on them, or place a damp paper towel in a container with them overnight. Tobacco can last virtually indefinitely when it’s stored completely dry. When you’re ready to use it, just follow one of the methods described above to bring your leaves back in order.
Still not sure how to increase or decrease the moisture content in your leaves? Just give us a holler, and we’ll be happy to help.
